Immigration to get tough on bosses who hire undocumented workers, says D-G

PUTRAJAYA: Employers that hire undocumented migrants are in the crosshairs of the Immigration Department.
Immigration director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh told a press conference here Monday (Aug 19) that the department conducted 11,903 operations between Jan 1 and Friday (Aug 16).
"From those operations, we arrested 29,030 undocumented migrants. We also arrested 900 employers in the same time frame.
"For our focus moving forward, we will (focus on errant) employers.
We see a growing number of undocumented migrants out there working.
