Public sector organisations must keep improving delivery of services, says PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Public sector organisations, as the machinery supporting the government agenda, need to kep improving the delivery of services transparently, efficiently and in a people-friendly manner, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said this was necessary to ensure that the country and its people can continue to enjoy harmony and prosperity.
"The government emphasises sustainability and holistic well-being so that government policies and their implementation benefit the people.
"This is because we are still facing a world grappling with power struggles and warfare, global economic trade is becoming increasingly sluggish and the climate and environment crisis is at a critical level," he said in the text of his speech at the opening of the Local Government Development Ministry Excellence Awards 2023 here on Saturday (Nov 11) night.
Anwar speech was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. Also present were Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming and his deputy, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir.
Anwar said as the government machinery responsible for delivering excellent public services, public sector organisation employees need to carry out their duties with dedication.
"The National Industrial Plan, Mid-Term Review of the Malaysia Plan, and Budget 2024 will not be fully realised unless implemented by a dynamic and aggressive service.
